Hello, I’m Ben Phillips, and I thank you for taking time to read about my real estate career, military service, community service and my precious family. Though raised in North Florida, I moved back to Gainesville and joined the Focus Real Estate Group team in November 2006, after six years working as a Realtor® in the South Florida area.
While there, I was recognized as the Keyes Company Realtors “Rookie of the Year.” I later served as assistant manager for the Keyes Boynton Beach, and as sales manager for the Coldwell Banker Boca Raton Central & Beach offices and their combined 300 agents.
After these successes with “big box” firms, I chose to work with Focus Real Estate Group so I could continue to provide all the bells and whistles of the national brands— along with the personal service level commonly associated and expected with smaller boutique firms.
By the way, since its inception in 2006, Focus agents past and present have listed and sold a combined $100 million + in real estate.
Currently, I specialize primarily in residential sales and campus housing. I’ve also begun carving out a niche in the multi-family and investment market within Gainesville. As well as being a Certified Negotiation Specialist and Certified Home Marketing Specialist, I have served on the Realtor Image Committee and volunteered countless hours to Habitat for Humanity and “Student of the Week” recognition programs.
Earlier in life, as a member of the US Air Force for six years, I served at the Air Force Academy and in Europe, receiving two Air Force Commendations as well as numerous other achievement awards. In 2014, I was recognized by the Gainesville, FL Police Department and received their “Police Service Award” for my contributions to Law Enforcement.
In 2015, I was appointed to the Board of Directors for Alachua Habitat for Humanity. In that position, I leveraged my real estate influence and experience to promote a renewed partnership with the local Realtor association and local business partners. We raise money and awareness of Habitat’s ongoing mission and the expansion of its New Home Builds, Critical Home Repairs, and Brush of Kindness programs.
My wife Kim and I have three incredible teenage children in Brandon, Lauren, and Kiersten. Brandon and Lauren attend Gainesville High School’s Cambridge Program. Brandon, a senior, is an active member of Gainesville High School’s Navy Jr. ROTC program, and is currently the unit’s commanding officer. Brandon is also a member of the GHS Lacrosse team and the school’s drama club. Lauren is a three-year starter for the Gainesville High School Varsity Soccer team and serves as president of the school’s Academy of Future Teachers (AFT). Kiersten attends Buchholz High School in Gainesville and recently received her driver’s license, so look out! My family and I are also active members of North Central Baptist Church in Gainesville.
